★    Katharine wants to go out for lunch. She asks Barbara about restaurants nearby.

凱薩琳要外出吃午餐，她向芭芭拉詢問這附近的餐廳。

K：I was wondering if there are any places to eat within walking distance1?

我在想，這附近有走路就能到的用餐地點嗎？

B：Well, across the street from the building is a shopping center. There's a Mexican restaurant there, and a sandwich shop, and there's a supermarket that has a pretty good salad bar.

這個嘛……公司對街有一間購物中心，裡面有墨西哥餐廳、三明治店，還有間超市，它的沙拉吧很不賴的。

K：That sounds good.

聽起來還不錯。

B：Then if you go out and turn right and head down to Apple Ridge Road—it's the first light—catty-corner2 from you is a bakery that has good croissants and coffee. There are a bunch of restaurants along Apple Ridge Road, but you couldn't walk to them.

如果妳出去右轉，走到蘋果脊路，到第一個紅綠燈時，妳的斜對面有一間麵包店，他們的牛角麵包跟咖啡滿好的。蘋果脊路上有好幾間餐廳，不過步行沒辦法到達。

K：What kind of restaurants?

什麼樣的餐廳？

B：Oh, about a mile down there's a sushi place. Further along, near the highway exit3, is a good Chinese takeout4 and a Peruvian place.

大約一哩路外，有一家壽司店。再過去，接近高速公路出口處有間中式外賣餐館和祕魯餐廳。

K：Great, thanks. Can I ask you one more thing? Is there a dry cleaner nearby?

太棒了，謝謝。可以再問一個問題嗎？這附近有乾洗店嗎？

B：Yes. From here, you go out and turn left; then keep on this road for three blocks. You go through5 one set of traffic lights. At the second set of lights—it's a big intersection6—you turn right. That's Plum Tree Road. Go down Plum Tree Road for another few blocks and it's on the left.

有。妳從這裡出去左轉，沿著此路過三條街，妳會經過一個紅綠燈，到第二個紅綠燈會有個大十字路口，向右轉就是李樹路了。沿著李樹路走過幾條街後，就在左邊。

K：Thank you!
