◎ 未來簡單式用來表示「預測未來要發生的事情」或是「提供未來資訊」「意圖」。句型是「will + 動詞原形」。
I will weed the garden every Saturday.
我每個星期六會除花園的草。（表意願）
I will plant peas this summer.
我今年夏天要種豌豆。（表意圖）

◎ will 通常會以縮寫「'll」的形式呈現。
She'll get married this summer.
她今年夏天要結婚了。
I'll go wherever the wedding is held.
不管婚禮在哪裡舉行，我都會去。
I'll take a pot roast out of the freezer to defrost.
我要從冰箱拿出燉牛肉來解凍。

◎ will 可用來表示「在說話時剛做的決定」。
I think I'll have a carrot. No, wait a minute, there are no carrots left. I think I'll eat a cucumber. Oh, I already finished the cucumbers. Maybe I'll quit eating salad.
我想我要吃一根胡蘿蔔，不，等等，已經沒有胡蘿蔔了。那我吃一根小黃瓜好了。我已經吃光所有的小黃瓜了。也許我該戒沙拉了。

◎ will 常用來表示「未來的生活」。
Soon human beings will travel through space to the planets and beyond. We will live on the Moon, Mars, or maybe in another galaxy. I think I'll go to a nice little planet, not too far from my office on Earth.
很快人類就可以到外太空，甚至到更遠的星球去旅行。我們將會住在月球、火星或是其他的銀河上。我想我會選擇去一個離我地球辦公室不會太遠的美麗小行星上。

◎ will 的否定是 will not，縮寫為 won't，經常用來表示「拒絕」、「不願意」。
I won't give you any money.
我不會給你錢的。
No matter what I say, Mary just won't open the door.
不論我怎麼說，瑪麗就是不開門。
I won't forget you.
我不會忘記你的。

◎ will 常和 think （想）、hope（希望）、perhaps（或許）這些字搭配使用。
I hope I will pass the exam.
我希望我會通過考試。
Perhaps he will visit his grandma this summer.
或許今夏他會去探望奶奶。
